From One to Many: The First 3 Months of the Amitypathers Community

We’re thrilled to share a powerful early milestone: over 200 Amitypathers have joined our community in just the first three months. And it’s not just the numbers that excite us – it’s the shape and reach of the domain-spanning community we’re building together.

We’ve plotted the network graph of the first 150 Amitypathers and it shows  the different degrees of activity. We haven’t tagged names – perhaps you can guess which node is you. A special mention for Lucy Rogers MBE who has created the deepest network – that’s Lucy at 2 o’clock!

Growing by Nomination: A Network That Reaches Further

At the heart of the Amitypathers community is a simple but powerful idea: each member can nominate others to join. This act – just one person inviting another – has already begun to extend the network far beyond what any single one of us could have imagined. In the image above, each line represents a personal nomination. You can see clusters of Amitypathers branching out into new areas, sometimes reaching people who had never heard of Amitypath before.

These bridges are what make Amitypathers so powerful. They bring in fresh perspectives, from people outside of your usual circles – people you wouldn’t otherwise meet. And that is no accident.

A Theory of Change Built for Wicked Problems

Our approach is grounded in a belief that to solve the world’s most complex, “wicked” challenges, you need people with diverse perspectives, different lived experiences, and varied domain knowledge. These are not problems you can solve by relying only on your first-degree connections.

That’s why the Amitypathers network grows not just outward but deep, with multiple degrees of nomination. It’s not about quantity – it’s about curiosity, insight, and the willingness to help.

By deliberately expanding across boundaries – between disciplines, sectors, geographies, and stages of life – we increase the probability of breakthrough thinking. Every new node on the graph is another chance to connect ideas that have never been combined before.

Remembering Who Introduced Whom

This structure also helps us keep track of something truly important: who made the connection. When a major breakthrough happens – and they will – we’ll be able to see not just who contributed, but who introduced the person who contributed. This means we can credit everyone who played a role in making it happen.

It’s a living map of impact, and a way to ensure that generosity and foresight are never forgotten.

So, Who Do You Know?

If you’re already an Amitypather, we invite you to ask yourself which people you know are most likely to be on the path to solving wicked problems.

Nominate them using your personalised nomination link. Reach further. Learn faster. Create breakthroughs along the path.

Together, we’re building something that’s more than a network – it’s a community that builds pathways to solutions the world needs.

And if you’re not an Amitypather yet, you can get started here today!

Tell us what you’re working on, and we’ll get back to you.

When you register into our community, you will have access to our communication channels, through which we will deliver opportunities for problem solving, and invite you and other Amitypathers into specialist problem-solving workgroups.

This will open up opportunities for you to demonstrate and be recognised for your contribution to solving challenges, and build further contacts with other curious, helpful and between people.
