B13 Joins as Sponsor of Walkabout to Power Tech Transformation

Over the past two years of Walkabouts, one thing has become increasingly clear: the Walkabout community is full of remarkable people – entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs – who are determined to use technology to transform their industries.

People like Joe Macdonald, Ian Greatbatch, and Terry Calderbank have shown what’s possible when ambition meets collaboration by starting companies through Walkabout. As Walkabout has grown from a grassroots experiment into a nationwide – and now international – movement, the appetite for support, insight and connection has grown with it, including from non-technical founders.

That’s why I’m delighted to announce our new sponsor partnership with B13.

I’ve really enjoyed getting to know Tom Haworth and the B13 team over the past couple of years. They’ve been longtime Walkabouters in Birmingham, and their presence and insight have added real value to our discussions. Now, we’re formalising that relationship to bring their expertise – especially in Venture Mapping and Software Development – to the entire Walkabout community.

“We’ve really enjoyed the discussions and love what you’re building with Walkabout,” says Tom. “We’re delighted to sponsor and keen to build lasting connections through the community.”

This sponsorship means B13 will be actively contributing expert support and guidance through our Tech Transformation Interest Group, helping Walkabouters, including non-technical founders, think clearly, act boldly, and structure their ventures for success. Their team will also be joining Walkabouts around the country throughout the year, continuing the conversations and connections that have already proven so powerful.

B13’s brand voice – “The best way forward”  couldn’t be more aligned with our mission. Together, we’ll help unleash the latent talent and ambition of Walkabouters across the country. I believe the social and economic value we’re unlocking will ripple far beyond our immediate networks.

Walkabout has always been about people in motion not just geographically, but intellectually and professionally. We bring together those working between disciplines, across roles, and at different life and career stages, united by curiosity and a desire to make things better.

If that sounds like you, I’d love you to:

Together, we’re not just building a community. We’re discovering and advancing the best way forward.

When you register into our community, you will have access to our communication channels, through which we will deliver opportunities for problem solving, and invite you and other Amitypathers into specialist problem-solving workgroups.

This will open up opportunities for you to demonstrate and be recognised for your contribution to solving challenges, and build further contacts with other curious, helpful and between people.
